Garmin Instinct 2X Solar – new rugged outdoor sports watch unveiled

Garmin just launched two new versions of their rugged outdoor smartwatch, and they’re the ultimate choice for adventurers and thrill-seekers. With the Instinct 2X Solar and Instinct 2X Solar Tactical Edition, Garmin takes their already popular Instinct series to the next level. The 2X models boast a massive 50 mm display and 64 MB of storage, making them perfect for those who need to keep track of their location, performance, and health while exploring the great outdoors.

These watches are built to last, with a durable design and a monochromatic, transflective MIP display that’s easy to read even in bright sunlight. And thanks to the solar-powered technology, you won’t have to worry about running out of battery during your adventures.

The larger case allows for a 1.1-inch display, which Garmin keeps at a resolution of 176 x 176 pixels. Both the Solar and Solar Tactical Editions weigh 67 g which is around 10g more than the smaller models. The wristband width increases from 20mm (Instinct 2S) or 22mm (Instinct 2) to 26mm.

The two X models have twice as much memory, with 64MB available.

Outstanding battery life

The Garmin Instinct 2X is based on the smaller models released at the beginning of 2022. Similar to the Fenix 7X, Garmin only offers the Instinct 2X in the solar version. In addition to the already good battery life, the small solar panels provide the watch with so much power that it no longer needs to be charged. However, this only applies to smartwatch mode and various power-saving modes.
